Darling DIY: Whipped Coconut Body Butter

We've recently discovered that it's so, so simple to make your own beauty products with a few simple ingredients, and we've been whipping up a few super simple winter-friendly recipes! A few great ingredients to have on hand for many different products just require a quick trip to your local grocery store. We stocked up on our supplies at our favorite: Trader Joe's! On our DIY Beauty trip we bought: extra virgin coconut oil, Vitamin E oil, peppermint extract, and white cane sugar.  It's also great to invest in a few essential oils, too.

This DIY features one of our favorite ingredients: the coconut oil! Coconut oil has MANY benefits, whether it's cooked into your food or used in topical products for your skin and hair. It's a fantastic deep moisturizer, which is particularly important during the cold and dry winter months! Because it is all natural, it doesn't dry out your skin like most of the store bought lotions do.

Supplies:
Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil (1/2 cup)
Vitamin E Oil (2 tsp)
Cocoa Butter (3 tbsp)
Essential oil (optional)

Steps:
1. Place coconut oil in a mixing bowl and mix on high with a hand mixer for 5-7 minutes
2. Add in vitamin E, cocoa butter, and any essential oil
3. Whip for another minute or so
4. Place in fridge for 15-20 minutes
5. Smooth onto hands and body to feel your extra soft skin!
