Darling DIY: Peter Pan Collar Necklace

The Peter Pan Collar is one of our favorite trends right now. It immediately adds class and femininity to any outfit and just makes you look so put together! Can you believe one is made out of felt? You can make it any any (or ALL) colors and can add whatever embellishment you want- for just  few dollars!

Darling DIY: Magazine Clutch (Wallet)

We are absolutely in love with making collages! We have a huge stack of old magazines that we save up just for projects like this one! Today, we turned a boring brown wallet into a bright, fun and girly one; we added a little strap and voila! a unique piece just made from things in the house.

Darling DIY: Sherlock-inspired bracelet

It's a wonder that we've gone almost a whole week without mention our current OBSESSION! While we're not studying, crafting, or cooking, we are either talking about, thinking about, reading about, or watching BBC's TV series, Sherlock. ALERT: If you have not seen it yet, we advise that you stop reading this post and go online to watch it (Netflix has the first season, fyi)! :-) This modern retelling of the classic sleuth series is FABULOUS! Its witty, clever, and hilarious! Benedict Cumberbatch's (SWOON!) portrayal of Mr. Holmes is legendary. May be one of the most fascinating characters ever written.

Okay, now that we have that out of the way. We made this Sherlock-inspired bracelet this weekend. It is blue and gray- the primary colors of the show- and includes little pictures of our beloved Bennie. We are very very new to jewelry making, and if you are too, we suggest starting off practicing attaching jump rings to a chain. You'll become a speedy pro in no time! This bracelet, with 12-ish jump rings took less than 30 minutes to attach !

(We couldn't help ourselves!)

Darling DIY: Bonnets

Another Jane Austen inspiration! Our parents were in India, leaving us alone at home for the first time EVER, so we decided to have a Jane Austen marathon at home! We always feel as if we were born in the wrong century and that we really belong in the regency times of Lizzie and Mr Darcy. We fell in love with all the young ladies' fun bonnets! We found these fabulous straw hats deep in the sale section at Urban Outfitters for $3 each! Then after a quick trip to Joann's for some ribbon and trim, we were set. This super simple DIY only required a few cuts to allow the bonnet to sit more vertically on our heads. We're really excited to wear these out this summer on our strolls though the gardens (aka: Central Park)!

Dazzling Destination: Magic Gardens, South Street, Philly

This week we took a family trip to Philadelphia's Magic Gardens on South Street. It is an amazing sculpture garden full of mosaics all around you. It was part of an effort to beautiful Philly, and boy did it do fulfill its purpose! It's only $5 a ticket and it's well worth it- this place is gorgeous, a real  treat for your senses! Check out their web site for more information and definitely pay them a visit! Magic Gardens: http://www.phillymagicgardens.org/

Darling DIY: Straw Necklace

All this graphic necklace took was a few straws, some ribbon, a little bit of paint, and about 15 minutes of your time. You can make it in ANY and ALL colors that your heart could desire for just a few dollars. It's such an effortless statement piece!

Dishy Delights: Mini Fruit Tarts

Over Spring Break, our mom had a little luncheon with some of her friends, so and we were in charge of the dessert. We decided to make this very low fat little treat! We modified this recipe (http://blog.fatfreevegan.com/2008/07/blackberry-lime-tartlets.html) from Fatfreevegan.com, and added a few different fruits. They tasted great and were super simple to make!

Darling DIY: Tea Wreath

We love love love love tea! Especially the royal British feeling we get when we sip from our dainty little teacups (making us feel quite like Elizabeth Bennett!) We decided to make this cute tea wreath so we can display our tea, as well as making it easy for us to just pluck a tea bag off and be transported to England. We use it so much that more than half of the wreath is already empty. Time to refill!

Darling DIY: Edible Finger Paints

Our adorable little niece, Arya, had her first birthday a couple months ago, and after a lot of scouring on the internet we found an amazing recipe for homemade edible finger paints. With just a few ingredients found in our Mom's kitchen, we whipped up this really cool paste and made her a rainbow of colors to play with.

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Our dad celebrated a milestone birthday earlier this year, and we wanted to make him something he would really remember! Our dad has one of the biggest sweet tooth in the world (something we definitely have inherited), so we made him Daddy Snickerdoodles! He really got a kick out of them. Take a look: see the resemblance?

Darling DIY: Pride and Prejudice Book Cover Purse

As you will soon see, we are OBSESSED with Pride and Prejudice! Could have something to do with Mr. Darcy... ;-) We were so in love with this book-to-purse DIY online that we had to make our own! We found this gorgeous P&P at Barnes and Noble and found perfectly matching fabric for it. One of the best parts of this DIYwas that it required no sewing!
