Darling DIY: Glitter Gift Tags- Two Ways!

For the holidays, we love all things glitter! And with some Mod Podge and loose glitter always on hand, we're ready to glitter up anything and everything we find! For their current holiday decor in stores, Anthropologie has gorgeous kraft and glitter color block tags hung off of their shimmy trees, and it looks magical! We decided to use that as inspiration for some glamourous silver glitter gift tags for the holidays this year. We made a color block set and a polka dot set, and used our brand new embossing kit (from Paper Source) to personalize them with black lettering. They were so easy and look to fabulous! Whip up some of your own and your gifts will look even more special!

Supplies:
Gift tags
Mod Podge (we used the gloss finish)
Foam Brush
Painters tape
Pencil with rubber eraser
Heat Tool, Embossing powder, and glue pen (optional, a simple pen will do just fine!)

Steps:
For the color block: 1) We used painters take to block off the bottom half of each tag. 2) Brush on a layer of Mod Podge. 3) Sprinkle on glitter to cover the surface. 4) Shake off excess. 5) After about an hour, brush on one more coat of Mod Podge on top to seal the glitter in. 6) Use the heat tool to emboss your message. 7) Attach on to the gift and you're done!

For the polka dot: 1) Use the heat tool to emboss the message first (The heat tool gets REALLY hot and I didn't want to use it with glitter and Mod Podge.) 2) Use the pencil eraser to make Mod Podge polka dots on the tag. 3) Sprinkle on loose glitter and then tap off excess. 4) Attach to gift!

A quick embossing tutorial: 1) Use the glue pen to write the message. 2) Cover entire writing with embossing powder and then shake off the excess. 3) Blow the hot air from the heat tool over your lettering for about 5 seconds (you do not need to move it back and forth, just right over the lettering). 4) Wait about 5-10 seconds and then you can even touch the lettering!

See? So easy, right? We absolutely love our tags and can't wait to use them!
See? How easy!
