DIY Eats: Jalapeno Cheddar Cheese Ball

We just adore anything that has cheese as the main ingredient. Or any ingredient. And our love extends to all kinds of cheese. Our current faves are aged cheddar, brie, and pepper jack. Yum!  During the holidays last year, we discovered cheese balls! They are so easy to whip up and taste inexplicably gourmet. Totally perfect for that last minute get-together.

We made our cream cheese based cheese ball with cheddar and jalapeno (since our parents LOVE spicy food)- and these flavors mixed just delightfully!

Ingredients:

Cream cheese (1 8 oz block, we used reduced fat)

Shredded cheddar cheese (1/2 cup)

Freshly grated parmesan (1/4 cup)

Minced garlic (1/4 tsp)

Jalapeno (1/3 cup)

Bread crumbs (1/4 cup)

Butter (1/2 Tbsp)

Steps:

1. Saute the bread crumbs in the butter

2. Mix the cheeses, garlic and jalapeno

3. Wrap cheese mixture in plastic wrap and form a ball shape

4. Place in fridge for 15 minutes

5. Roll in bread crumbs

6. Enjoy with crackers or veggies!
